The side walls of the X-Plate plate are made of flexible food-grade silicone to be folded and take up little space, but the base is made of rigid nylon – also food grade – which provides consistency and rigidity.
The food-grade silicone in this camping dish is a safe material for your food. It is the same material that is frequently used for the manufacture of molds for cooking baked food. Food grade silicone is non-toxic, safe and flexible. Both silicone and food-grade nylon resist high temperatures, so you can quietly eat hot foods without worrying about your folding plate spoiling. If you use it at home or in a well-equipped motorhome you can also put it in the microwave. Once you have finished using it, you can fold it so that your camping kitchen utensils occupy as little space as possible. In addition, it is dishwasher safe, so you can wash it once you are at home.
